Introduction and Purpose: Room on the Shelf is a collective managed by Honey Nook CIC. Our mission is to provide a platform for local makers to showcase their craft, build community, and reach a wider audience. By joining the network and placing items "on the shelf," the Maker agrees to abide by the following terms.
Membership and Eligibility: Originality: All products must be handmade, designed, or significantly altered by the Maker. Reselling mass-produced items is strictly prohibited.
Standards: Items must be of high quality and fit the "artisanal" aesthetic of the network. Honey Nook CIC reserves the right to refuse items that do not align with our brand values (e.g., non-sustainable materials).
Fees and Commission: Makers agree to pay a yearly fee of £15 for their allocated space. Pay-outs to Makers will be processed on the 1st of every month via bank transfer for the previous month's sales.
Stock and Display: Inventory: Makers are responsible for providing a full inventory list of items, including prices and descriptions.
Display: We always welcome branded business cards and small decorative touches.
Restocking: It is the Maker's responsibility to monitor stock levels and restock as needed, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Insurance and Liability: Product Liability: The Maker remains responsible for ensuring their products meet all UK safety regulations (e.g., UKCA marking for toys, CLP for candles, or cosmetic safety reports for skincare).
Loss or Damage: While Honey Nook CIC takes the utmost care of all stock, we cannot be held liable for accidental damage, shoplifting, or loss. Makers are encouraged to hold their own public liability and stock insurance.
Intellectual Property: Your Art: The Maker retains all rights to their designs and branding.
Promotion: By joining, the Maker grants Room on the Shelf/Honey Nook CIC permission to use photos of their products for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes to help drive sales.
Community Conduct: "Room on the Shelf" is a supportive environment. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or unprofessional behaviour toward staff or fellow makers. We are a "theatre of makers"—everyone deserves their moment in the spotlight!
Termination: Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days notice.
Honey Nook CIC reserves the right to ask a Maker to remove their stock immediately if these T&Cs are breached.
